This policy covers invergetech.com and the enquiry forms on it. It is written to name the actual services that touch your data — our host, our analytics, our bot protection and our email provider — because a policy that only describes categories tells you nothing useful. Inverge Tech is the data controller for everything described here. If you are an existing client, the handling of data inside a project we build for you is governed by that project's contract, not by this page.
What we collect
There are two kinds: what you type into a form, and what is recorded automatically when any browser loads a page.
When you submit the contact or consultation form we receive the fields you complete:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Company name and phone number, where you provide them
- The service you are interested in, and how you heard about us
- Your message
Submitted alongside the form, without you typing it, so we know where an enquiry came from:
- The page you were on when you submitted, and the site that referred you
- Campaign parameters present in the URL (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content)
- An advertising click identifier if you arrived from an ad (Google's gclid or Meta's fbclid)
- The two-letter country your request came from, derived from your IP address by our host. We store the country code, not the IP address.
When you subscribe to the newsletter we receive the email address you enter, together with the page you submitted it from, any campaign parameters in the URL at that moment, and the two-letter country of the request. Nothing else — the form asks for nothing else.
On every page load, as with any website, our host and our analytics record technical request data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, access time, and the referring address. We do not collect your ZIP code, age or gender, and we do not ask for payment card details anywhere on this site.
What we do with the information we gather
- To reply to you. An enquiry is emailed to our team and you receive an automatic acknowledgement confirming it arrived.
- To keep a record of the enquiry so a conversation is not lost between emails.
- To understand which pages and campaigns bring enquiries, which is what the referrer and campaign parameters are for.
- To improve the website using aggregate analytics — which pages are read, which are ignored.
We do not add you to a marketing list because you submitted an enquiry. Our newsletter is a separate, explicit opt-in that you have to ask for and then confirm — see The newsletter below. We do not sell, rent or lease your personal information to anyone, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.
The newsletter
The sign-up form in the footer of every page is the only marketing list we operate. Joining it is deliberately separate from contacting us: submitting the contact or consultation form never subscribes you, and subscribing never puts you in our enquiry records.
It is confirmed opt-in. When you enter your address we store it as pending and email you a single confirmation link. Nothing is sent until you click that link. An address that is never confirmed is never mailed, and the link works only once.
Against a subscription we store your email address, when you signed up and when you confirmed, the page the form was submitted from, any campaign parameters that were in the URL, the two-letter country of the request, and the date of the most recent issue sent to you. As with enquiries, we store the country code and not your IP address.
Unsubscribing takes one button. The link at the foot of every issue opens a page with a single "unsubscribe me" button, and pressing it removes you immediately — no login and no reply needed. The button exists because mail scanners open links in emails before you do, and we will not have a scanner unsubscribe you by accident. Every issue also carries the standard one-click unsubscribe headers, which is what lets Gmail and Outlook show their own unsubscribe button next to our name. Once you unsubscribe we keep your address on a suppression list so that a later send cannot reach you by mistake; ask us and we will delete it outright instead.
Issues are delivered by Resend, the same provider that sends our form emails. We do not use tracking pixels and we do not measure whether you opened an issue.
Our newsletter carries a GoodFirms badge linking to our profile on that review platform, as part of GoodFirms' co-marketing programme. The badge image is served from our own domain and the link is an ordinary hyperlink, so GoodFirms learns nothing about you unless you choose to click it.
Who processes your data
We use the following providers. Each one is a processor acting on our instructions, and each has its own privacy terms:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts and serves this site, provides the bot protection on our forms, and stores enquiry records in a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare privacy policy
- Resend — delivers the notification email to our team and the acknowledgement email to you. Your name, email address and message pass through it. Resend privacy policy
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-1RK3FC8J2X, for aggregate traffic statistics. Google privacy policy
Beyond these, we disclose personal information only where we have your permission, or where we are required to by law.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser so it can recognise a returning visit. This site sets no cookies of its own for advertising or personalisation, and it has no login, so there is nothing to remember about you between visits.
What we do run is Google Analytics 4, which sets its own cookies to count visits and measure which pages are read. We use it only in aggregate — page views, traffic sources, broad geography. We have not enabled Google Analytics advertising features or audience remarketing on this property, and we do not build a profile of you.
You can accept or decline cookies in your browser settings; most browsers accept them by default. Declining them will not stop this site working, because nothing here depends on them. aboutcookies.org explains how to inspect and delete cookies in any browser.
To opt out of Google Analytics across every website you visit, install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Bot protection
Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which distinguishes a person from an automated script. When you submit a form, Turnstile processes a token from your browser together with your IP address in order to return a pass or fail result. It is a privacy-preserving alternative to a traditional CAPTCHA: it does not track you across sites and it does not require you to solve a puzzle. We receive only the verification outcome, not the signals Turnstile used to reach it.
Our forms also include a hidden field that is invisible to you and left blank by real browsers. Automated scripts fill it in, and those submissions are silently discarded.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries — kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation, and deleted on request. See Your rights.
- Notification and acknowledgement emails — retained in our mailbox under normal business correspondence retention.
- Newsletter subscriptions — kept until you unsubscribe, then kept as a suppression record so we cannot mail you again by accident, and deleted outright on request. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are mailed nothing and are pruned from the list periodically.
- Analytics — retained by Google under the retention period configured on our Analytics property, after which Google deletes the underlying event data. Aggregate reports may persist.
- Server request logs — retained briefly by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention, under its own retention schedule.
Security
Every page and form submission on this site is served over HTTPS, so data in transit is encrypted. Enquiry records are held in a managed database that is not publicly reachable, and access to it and to our mailbox is restricted to the people who need it. Our email credentials and API keys are held as secrets in our hosting platform rather than in the site's source code.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and any relevant authority where we are required to.
Your rights
Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you, and provide a copy
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your enquiry and any record of it
- Stop contacting you, at any point, for any reason
Email support@invergetech.com and we will action it. We do not charge for this and we will not ask you to justify the request. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format, or to complain to your national data protection authority; we will honour those on the same basis.
International transfers
Inverge Tech is based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The providers listed above operate globally, so your data is processed on infrastructure outside your own country, including in the United States. Where you are in a region that restricts such transfers, they take place under the transfer mechanisms those providers make available in their own terms.
Children's privacy
This is a business-to-business website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, including the client projects in our case studies. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or the practices of those sites, and a link is not an endorsement. This policy does not apply to them — check the privacy statement of whichever site you have arrived at.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when what we actually do changes — a new provider, a new form field, a different analytics setup. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. This version replaces the policy dated 24 January 2020.
